On August 16, 2006, Lois decided to have her head shaved. She wanted her family to gather for the event, and since James, our son-in-law, buzz-cuts his boys, she wanted him to do the deed.
Left to right: Maia Rose, Aiden Charles, Lois, Izaiah James, and in the background, James the Butcher.

Some family members have seen resemblances in this photo to Lois' dad. This is the Final Buzz Cut.
NOW WHAT?
Well, there was a time for sharing hats; but by now Izaiah and Aiden have found other things to occupy their time.

Jim and Lois! Thanks for updating the blog on Lois. and keeping us informed. I read about all 4 treatments at office today. Sounds like she is a real trooper and so brave. So glad her spirit is good. Just know you are so good to her and make her laugh too. She looks darling in the hats. If I find a cute hat will send to her. Vicki
Lois,
I think my jaw dropped when I saw this picture! You look so much like G'pa! I always knew you had his eyes, but I can totally see G'pa in you! I called my mom right after I saw this pic to see if she had seen the pic yet?!?! This is a compliment!!!
You look great! I admire your bravery! Your hats are cute!
I miss you all and hope to see you all again soon!
Take care of yourself! We are always thinking of you! Char knows you go to your Chemo treatments and Mondays and always asks me how it went. Sometimes he asks before I have even talked to my mom!
You are always in our thoughts!
Love,
Jaime
Bless your heart Lois. You are beyond great and an inspiration.
Sending my love. I'll call you soon.

Hi Lois,
I just read your update on your hair cutting. I admire your choice of going ahead and shaving it. I’m sure for the grandkids it made it more of a celebration and something that wasn’t so scary for them. Just the way that you have handled the whole situation is admirable. I have a bunch of hats that I am going to clean and then take to the Cancer Center here in town. I don’t have an army helmet but I hope they will take what I have. The helmet is a definite keeper for you, very stylish. Keep up the good work.
Love, Carol

Hi Jim,
Roger Belair paid a visit to your website yesterday, saw the news you posted there about Lois, and passed it on to me. Please give Lois our best regards, which you have as well. FYI, John Knowles’s wife, Kathy, went through this about six years ago or so and is doing well now.
