Slumber in the Chemo Forest

After being informed that caffeine is a "no-no" with the type of anti-nausea meds she takes on the day of chemo, and listening to the rather "self-hypnotic" cd on relaxation they gave her, Lois finally got a Good Night's Sleep last night.

No nausea, no fatigue, no hair.

Lois,

I am so impressed to hear about your new "do" after our conversation on Wednesday. If I were there, I would shave my hair, too. Then we could trade hats like we used to trade clothes in school. Wish you could meet our friend, Julie. She looks adorable in all of her hats and the peach fuzz that grows underneath. One good thing...it does come back. Great attitude, Great friend and Great lady. You are loved!!!

So glad to hear that you feel good and the hair thing is ok with you. Was I right?? Is your head cute? I remember walking around with a knee high on my head to try to get the feel of what it might be like. Dave did not like it one little bit or see the humor. I didn't know why "then" but I do now. Fear is very personal and for the most part he covered well.
Praying fervently. Sure enjoyed you guys.
Love,
Jenny

Hi Lois, just checking in to let you know that I am thinking of you a lot. The posts are wonderful and informative. Both you and Jim are going through a lot. I remember some of it but didn't have the chemo so don't know about that. Looking forward to seeing you at Sorority Meetings in a cute hat.

Well, Good Morning, actually good afternoon since it's 12:35. I am so happy that you finally got a good nights sleep last night. Jim says in the blog, no fatigue, no nausea, no hair. Did you shave your head or is the hair really falling out? I thought you looked pretty darn good in the pictures from the latest blog considering everything you are going through. George read the blog last night and said he thought you looked thin, I told him you have never been very big anyway. I want to see some pictures of your decorated hats, that sounds so much like you.

I was feeling bad about my hair UNTIL I read Jim's blog last night!!! Here I am complaining I desperately need a hair cut and yours is falling out. See, you continue to inspire me and others too, I'm sure, in ways you don't even realize.

Hang in there Lois, your 1/3 of the way done, as Jim says. I am so glad you are not sick on top of everything else. Looking forward to seeing you soon, I miss you guys. Talk to you soon.

Love,

Joanne

Lois, I think the idea of shaving your head in front of the grandchildren is great! They will be so much more comfortable taling to you about how you are feeling & everything! I really admire your spirit & am so gald you are getting some sleep. Jim, you seem to have a great spirit also & that is important. I remember my Dad wouldn't talk to Mother about anything when she was having her rounds with cancer & she needed his input so much!! Cordelia
